conveyor belts for recycling

Recycling plant conveyors are an indispensable component of the recycling industry. These conveyors serve a variety of purposes, from sorting, sifting and segregating materials to transporting them from one processing stage to another. They are specially designed to handle different materials including metals, plastics, paper, and glass, and come in various sizes and shapes.

While there are many belt types and requirements in the recycling industry, these three specific types of often highlight many operations:

Recycling Plant Incline Conveyors:

These conveyors are designed to move materials vertically and are particularly useful for moving heavy or bulky materials to a higher elevation.  Many of these incline belts have cleats, molded profiles or sidewalls to help conveying on an incline.  They can be found in the initial unloading and presort recycling phase,  at various points in the sorting process and for loading materials onto trucks or other transportation vehicles. This process reduces the need for manual labor and are necessary for loading and transporting heavy loads, high volume and bulky materials.

Recycling Plant Sortation Conveyors:

These conveyors are designed to sort and segregate materials according to size, shape, and material type. They can be used to separate materials into different categories for processing or to remove contaminants from the recycling stream.  They are often flat belts that work in concert with optical sorters, diverters and manual sorting.   Numerous recycling plant conveyor belts are used to transport materials from one processing stage to another.

Magnetic Separator Conveyors and Eddy Current Separators:

Magnetic Separator Conveyors and Eddy Current Separators are two type of specialty conveyors designed to remove metals from the recycling stream. These conveyors use powerful magnets to attract or repel ferrous and non-ferrous materials and segregate them from the waste stream.  Magnetic separators can attract various types of metal pulling them from the stream.  Eddy current separators use currents to repel and remove nonferrous metals such as aluminum, die-cast metal and copper from nonmetallic material.

The multitude of conveyor belts used in recycling plant conveyors greatly improves efficiency and optimizes the processing capacity of the plant. This has environmental benefits as well.  By reducing the need for truck transportation and my making the recycling process more efficient, we can see lower emissions and a reduced carbon footprint.

Recycling plant conveyors including incline conveyors, transport and sortation conveyors and magnetic conveyors are essential tools in the recycling industry. Their ability to sort, transport, load, unload and stockpile materials allow for an  efficient and effective means of recycling waste.
